From React Native Nerd to The Travelling Developer

·Tim Moreton Jr

If you found me through the Threads clone, the TikTok clone, or the AI finance app — welcome back. It's been a minute.

I'm writing this from Argentina, where I just filmed a video explaining what's next for this channel. Here's the short version.

What Changed

React Native Nerd is now The Travelling Developer. The old name was specific and it served me well, but it stopped fitting what I actually want to build and teach.

This isn't going to be a faceless tutorial channel anymore. I don't just want to show you how to code a feature — I want to show you how to build small projects, launch them, and make money from them. The full picture: building the thing, shipping it, seeing if it gets traction, figuring out how to market it, and being honest about what happens along the way.

That's the content I wish existed when I was starting out. Not just "here's how to build a TikTok clone" but "here's how to take an idea, turn it into something real, and see if people will pay for it."

What's Coming

The channel is going to be more personal, more in-depth, and more focused on the business side of being a developer. Think of it as building in public — real projects, real launches, real numbers.

I'm also opening this up to the community. I want your feedback on what to build, what to cover, and what problems you're trying to solve. This isn't a one-way broadcast anymore.

Get Involved

If you have an idea for a project, a video topic, or something you want the community to tackle together — reach out. You can head to thetravelingdeveloper.com or drop a comment on the YouTube video.

The old courses are still up, still useful. But the new direction is about building things that make money — and I hope you'll join me for the ride.
